New Nissan Pulsar coming this year

Do not confuse it with the Bajaj Pulsar, it’s Nissan’s all new Pulsar hatchback. Yes, the Japanese car major is coming up with its all new 5-door hatchback Pulsar for the European market later this year. The car is expected to be unveiled first on May 20 on the world’s most popular video sharing site YouTube.

Interestingly, Nissan Pulsar was a compact sedan first seen in 1978, much before Bajaj’s extremely popular bike Pulsar, and it was discontinued in 2000. Now, Nissan has totally redesigned the Pulsar to launch it in a new avatar in the European market. The car will be available in hatchback and sedan segment. The Nissan hatchback will be available in four variants – Pulsar ST, Pulsar ST-L, Pulsar ST-S and Pulsar SSS (available in Australia only).

The all new Pulsar is the never seen before combination of next generation technology, cult design and bold looks. Its sharp and edgy LED headlights, angular taillights, masculine front grille and crisp sides make the new Pulsar bold and beautiful.

It features a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine which generates a power of 96KWand massive 174Nm of torque. The performance oriented engine features Twin Continuously Variable Timing Control (C-VTC), valve springs, power valve and high tumble intake ports. The new Pulsar comes with an optional next generation Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) to provide easy handling and smooth driving experience and it returns excellent fuel economy of around 16kmpl. The 2014 Pulsar hatchback is also available in Direct Injection Gasoline turbo engine which is more powerful and dynamic.

Comfortable for five adults, the new Nissan Pulsar offers extremely spacious cabin space and luxurious interior. Its foldable seats extend the space inside. The advanced instrument cluster with multiple infotainment functions provides an enjoyable drive. Remote keyless entry, steering wheel audio controls and Bluetooth connectivity make driving the new Pulsar an unforgettable experience. Dual front, side and curtain airbags are also equipped for safety.

The 2014 Nissan Pulsar hatchback is expected to be available in the second half of the year with an affordable price tag. It’ll serve the C-segment car market in Europe. No information about its India launch yet.
