Nissan expanding network, opens Sales & Marketing centre in Mumbai

The Indian automotive market is going through a reported slow down but Japanese car major Nissan is having its best time here with rocketed sales figures of its entire range of models. To keep the low market scenario aside, Nissan is expanding its network in the country. The company has inaugurated its new sales and marketing headquarter in Mumbai to offer more sales and after sales services to its customers.

The new centre is situated in the Equinox Business Park located in Kurla, Mumbai. The 17,000 sq ft centre is reportedly Nissan’s second largest office in the country. The centre will have separate teams to handle sales, communications, marketing and dealer management. Nissan expects to house at least 200 employees by the end of the year. The centre will carry out operation for Nissan and its popular car brand Datsun.

Earlier this year, Nissan ended its agreement with Hover Automotive India, the company which used to look after Nissan’s sales services in the country. Nissan then decided to open its own sales and service centres across the country to provide better sales and after sales services to its customers. And the opening of the sales & marketing centre in Mumbai is considered as the beginning of it.

Nissan is taking almost no time to spread its network in India. With its corporate headquarter in Chennai, Nissan recently opened its largest Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) and a regional centre in Delhi to improve its Indian portfolio.

Nissan also organized the customer centric initiative ‘Happy With Nissan’ recently to provide services to its customers across the nation. Nissan is becoming a major key player in the Indian auto market with the recent success of its Datsun brand. The company has already announced to open separate dealerships for its Datsun brand due to ongoing sky high sales figures. In addition to Nissan’s success story, it was recently crowned as the second largest exporter in India over Maruti Suzuki. Nissan currently has around 66 dealerships across 54 cities in India. Nissan is planning to increase its dealerships to 200 in the next three years.

The company has already announced that it’ll majorly focus on customer services this year. Nissan is precisely working on its strategies to strengthen its presence in the emerging Indian car market.

Meanwhile, Nissan also appointed Mr. Guillaume Sicard as the new Deputy President for its Indian operations. He will officially start his association with Nissan from July 1, 2014. Sicard is currently working for Renault Turkey.
